Simply Cakes Company Policies
Simply Cakes is proud of our products, services, employees, and our customers. In order to make your experience with Simply Cakes the best, here are our current Company Policies:
Prices - Simply Cakes may adjust prices at any time based on market conditions. We will always honor the prices on orders once a customer has paid a deposit.
Deposits - All custom-ordered wedding cakes require a non-refundable down payment of $100.00. Celebration cakes may require a down payment of 50% of the total price.
Cancellations - All Wedding Cake Contract cancellations must be made to Simply Cakes in writing, no later than 30 days before your reception. All initial $100.00 down payments paid on Wedding Cakes are non-refundable and non-transferable to any other date or cake order. Cancellations made more than 30 days prior to the wedding may receive a refund on monies paid, less non-refundable retainer. Requests for refunds of monies paid beyond the $100.00 retainer will be reviewed on a case by case basis. Cancellations made less than 30 days prior to wedding date will not receive a refund of any and all monies paid to Simply Cakes. All cancellations must be made in writing, or by speaking to an actual Simply Cakes employee. Voicemail cancellations are not accepted!
Absolutely no refunds will be given on any monies paid on wedding cakes canceled less than 30 days before the reception date!
Cancellation of Celebration cakes must be made no later than 48 hours prior to pick-up. All cancellations must be made in writing, or by speaking to an actual Simply Cakes employee. Voicemail cancellations are not accepted!
General Info - Texas can be hot and humid. When ordering your cake, be sure to discuss the intended environment with us and we can make design and environment suggestions to minimize the detrimental effects of Texas weather. Our cakes are kept refrigerated until we deliver or you pick them up. Once any cake leaves our possession we cannot guarantee the cake will not be damaged, sweat, color-bleed, collapse, or melt. Simply Cakes is not responsible for any damage that occurs to any client-transported or set-up cake once it has left our bakery.
Simply Cakes will NOT set up any cakes outside.
Flowers - If fresh flowers are a part of your Wedding Cake design, you must obtain those flowers from your florist or flower supplier. This will insure an exact match of the flowers used in your entire wedding decor. We cannot accept florals for your cake at the shop, as our coolers are too cold for proper flower storage. We will place flowers onto your cake at your reception venue at no charge.
Colors - Perfect color matches between edible products and paper or fabric dyes is impossible and cannot be guaranteed. Simply Cakes uses high quality food-grade colors that can change when exposed to UV light, such as pink, purple, gray, and lavender. Also, dark colors may bleed onto lighter colors such as dark writing or designs on light frosting. To make color match as best as possible, please provide actual color samples or materials. Please note that in our experience, digital photography captures color much differently than the human eye, and cannot be relied on as an accurate indicator of perceived color.
Dietary Information - Simply Cakes uses eggs, dairy, wheat, and nut products in our products. We cannot guarantee that any product will not contain these ingredients. We are not kosher, nor do we create products that adhere to specific dietary requirements, such as sugar or gluten free.
Licensed Characters and likenesses - Simply Cakes will not knowingly violate copyright laws nor use unauthorized licensed characters in its products. Hand-decorated characters can resemble licensed characters but cannot include their name. Cakes that are made to look like certain products, (such as automobiles), are not guaranteed to be exact likenesses. If an exact likeness is desired, “Edible Images” digitally copied transfer sheets of characters or photographs may be used.
Changes - If you would like to change any details of your order, please contact Simply Cakes as soon as possible. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your changes, but may not always be able to do so due to time and design constraints.
Right to Refuse Service - Simply Cakes embraces all good customers and will never refuse service to anyone based on race, religion, sexual preference, age, appearance, or social standing. We do reserve the right to refuse service to any customer that has refused to settle prior accounts, or treats any Simply Cakes employee with disrespect. Simply Cakes reserves the right to refuse to create any product or likeness that we may deem to be offensive.

Simply Cakes is not responsible for any damage that occurs to any client-transported or set-up cake once it has left our bakery.

Delivery Policy - If you have arranged and paid for Simply Cakes to deliver your Wedding Cake, Simply Cakes will do so with pleasure. One attempt will be made to deliver your cake to the provided address. It is up to you to make sure the venue is open and ready to accept your wedding cake delivery.
IMPORTANT DELIVERY INFORMATION
If Simply Cakes is met with locked doors and no one is on the premises or available to unlock the venue to allow us access, Simply Cakes will make all reasonable attempts to reach you on your provided phone number to make delivery of your cakes. Simply Cakes will wait NO LONGER than 15 minutes past your scheduled delivery time. After that time, we will return the cake to our shop and you will need to contact Simply Cakes to make arrangements for someone to come and pick it up.
It is your responsibility to ensure that your reception site is open and available for set up at the appointed time. Should we have to wait at the site for your venue to be opened, you will be billed for our time at a rate of $50 per 15 minutes, paid in cash before we will leave your cake.
If you would like Simply Cakes to attempt redelivery of your cakes, there will be an additional delivery fee, payable in cash, before Simply Cakes will leave your cakes at your venue. The time of re-delivery will depend on any other deliveries we may already have scheduled for that day.
